Jellystone Disc Golf Course

Back to Disc Golf Course Overview

Located just off of I-25, 20 mins south of the Denver Tech Center, Jellystone Disc Golf Course is 18 holes varing from wide-open bomb holes to technical shots. The scrub-oak that covers the course is unique to any other in the Front Range and adds difficulty, technicality, and beauty to your round.

Details, reviews, and more info on the course can be found here: http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=3874

Check-in at the ranger station. It is kinda weird the first time but the benefit is that they have drinks, ice-cream and snacks for sale as well if you forgot anything. I have yet to see Yogi Bear steal a picnic basket (or a disc) which is kind of disappointing…

The first two holes are just set you up in the course. At hole 3 the terrain becomes top-notch. Here Drew takes a nice uphill putt shot on #3 being one of the most scenic pin locations at Jellystone Disc Golf Course:

One of the best things about Jellystone is that if you live/work in the South Denver area it is close enough to play after 5pm as it only takes 25 mins from the Tech Center to get there. If you live further north I-25 can be a bitch going south during rush-hour.

Playing late gives the benefits of incredible sunsets:

Jellystone is an interesting course as the primary use of the land is an RV theme park. On busy weekends you may see people driving around in golf carts looking at the sights, or you may be throwing discs near a goat-herd as they munch some grass. There is also a Horse Graveyard that is on one of the holes.

I got lucky on this throw. My buddy walked by my disc and started laughing his ass off and once I joined him I couldn’t stop laughing either. This is exactly how it landed on the drive at hole #14, DISC GOLF COURSE ROAD APPLES:

Scrub-Oak is a formidable obstacle at Jellystone. Ranging from small disc-eating bushes to 12 ft tall tree’s, you are always in for a challenge if your disc goes into them. Bret fighting his way out any way possible, the hole is up on the left:

Hole #8 is a classic. Straight-shot down a gully. Elevated Tee-pad with a tough shot over the pine-trees. Go left and you are in thick scrub-oak, end up right and you find yourself up a small side-gully. Straight is the best option. In the photo the tee is in the short-position which makes the hole more straight-forward as the long tee is deep through the further tree-stand. Trent lays one perfectly down-course:

More pics of the other incredible holes on the way. If you are in Denver and the weather is good make sure to check this place out. Playable year-around.
