A true mountainous course has been created in Bailey, Colorado featuring large par 4’s, tight technical trees, huge open-bomb holes, and a natural setting that is top-notch. The course works through open fields, aspen groves, huge pine trees, and numerous rock outcroppings. Located 45-50 mins from Denver this new course is quickly gaining popularity.

Bailey Course Photos: A number of these photos were taken during the summer of 2012. Note: At the time we were in a severe drought with fireworks and campfires banned in the area. This is why the course is so dry looking and later in the year once the rain came back it looked much better!

The natural tee’s are one of the highlights of the course. Placement is perfect and really makes the course. Here Bret on Hole #4 throws a strong forehand drive over the Aspen grove from one of the coolest tee-pads on the course (~400ft long, basket is up on the further fill right at where the Pine trees start):

Hole #6: After throwing through some Mando tree’s if you are lucky you end up with a wide-open and challenging tee shot (which was narrowly missed in this photo) (ppl in the background are near the #7 pin):
The course is quite massive, avg hole length is ~370ft with 10 of the 20 holes driving uphill. Elevation gain means quite a bit of walking too. Starting at hole #9 you begin a big uphill climb as the course works it’s way to the top of the ridge. This means lots of tough sidehill holes, which at times can feel repetitive. On the backside there is one more sidehill (#15) before the course changes it up. Hole #15 is a big sidehill where it pays to have a good sidearm throw:
The end of the course is quite good. Hole #16 potentially being the course highlight for how much fun it is to throw from a massive perch (pictures coming). However the tee on #19 is in one of the most beautiful spots on the course, make sure to take the time to enjoy the views from the highest point here:
A fitting end to this course is the last major hole. 500+ feet to the pin from an elevated position and a open corridor provides some great opportunities to empty the bag. Puts you right back at the cars for another round or the drive home. Caitlin on #20:
