9 Lives Arete
Hidden just above Cherry Creek in a perfect setting sits one of the larger boulders in Castlewood. There are just a few problems and each is very good.
Plate Rock
In the middle of the canyon sits a cluster of problems with great views. This arete has a nice problem with tricky moves up high. Around the side is some nice high-ball action.
Corridor Area
Well above Cherry Creek along the cliff-line sits an excellent area with two perfect vertical walls. Top-outs are generally the crux. Other boulders are nearby.
Creekside Boulders
A cluster originally known as the "Gathering" sits right along Cherry Creek with several excellent problems. On the way to the corridor and the Buddha/Berthoud caves it is a popular warm-up spot.
North Sentry Crack
Some boulders require balls and this one is no exception. A perfect hand-crack that is easily seen from the trail above the waterfall, the landing will sketch even the most confident.
Rocket Ship
One of the best, easier problems in C-wood. Right in the middle of the Fontaine-bleau area this provides a great starting place.
Dr. Love’s
Deep in the thick woods well off-trail sits a few blocks that are worth searching for. Dr. Love's is a beautiful boulder with a high-ball top-out.
Gerbil in a Chute
Aptly named. Located on the classic Punani boulder this funky problem will test the feet.
Plate Rock Highball
A highball with a nice flat landing. Figuring out the climb is probably the hardest part. Beautiful location in the middle of the canyon.
Fountaine Lip Traverse
One of the premier problems in C-wood that features unique movement and holds.
Double Dick Dyno
On the 9 Lives boulder, this high-ball features two massive moves with a tricky start.
Punani
One of the top problems in C-Wood. This hard problem climbs up a perfect arete using some interesting hand-holds. Dynamic with a great landing.
Buddha Cave
Numerous problems are located in this protected cave with a beautiful view of the valley below. This warm-up problem is the first along the wall and features a tricky start and big moves.
Tiger Woods
Tucked in a quiet spot just up the hill along the Inner Canyon trail at the West Entrance, Tiger Woods is an area classic with dynamic moves.
